Oxtail Blade is the specialty heavy that rewards curiosity. Its arcs and charge timings do not feel like a reskinned odachi, so veterans of Nioh-like games should relearn spacing instead of importing old habits wholesale.
Because the early style pool is thinner than katana, oxtail players should hunt bond masters aggressively. Mumyo Kaishin-ryu learning missions that explicitly list Oxtail Blade are priority markers on your map.
Use oxtail when you want a deliberate identity for a New Game Plus route or a themed loadout. For a first playthrough, it is excellent as a third weapon once your core triangle coverage already exists on more common blades.
Oxtail blade is a specialty fantasy weapon. Unlock its advanced multi-weapon lines before you judge it against katana; a Novice oxtail kit is not a fair comparison to a Master katana kit.
